I’m Bonnie Bucqueroux, editor and publisher of The Sustainable Farmer. I started this site because I believe that sustainable agriculture can transform the way that people in the United States grow and consume food.
Decades ago, I was an agricultural journalist who helped promote many practices that now make me shudder. Since then, I have become a pioneer in finding ways to build harness the enormous power of the Internet to share information and build community. I am also one of the 1,000 people trained personally by Former Vice President Al Gore through The Climate Project. My goal with this blog and the Sustainable Farmer online magazine and forum community is to combine my experience in ag journalism, my commitment to sustainability and my love of new media to offer sustainable farmers a place of their own.
I will also use this blog to share personal experiences as I explore sustainable agriculture on my own 8-1/2 acres of land. Not enough space for sustainable farming as a business enterprise perhaps. But then again, who knows what the future may hold.
